Jerry A Davis

Jerry A. Davis age 57, of Caldwell, passed away Sunday, September 6, 2015. He was born July 10, 1958 in Marietta, Ohio a son of Gerald E. and Arlene Johnson Davis of Caldwell.

Jerry will be fondly remembered by many as a baseball coach having served many years as a Little League and Junior High Baseball Coach. He had a true passion for the sport and teaching it to all ages. When not on a ball field somewhere Jerry could be found for many years training and racing horses. He loved harness racing whether he was involved or just a spectator.

He was employed for many years for the Zanesville Metropolitan Housing Authority.

He is preceded in death by his son Jensen L. "J-Rod" Davis; grandparents Blake and Edna Davis and sister-in-law Angela Marie Martin.

In addition to his parents, those left to cherish his memory are wife Kimberly Martin Davis, whom he married Feb. 16, 1990; son Craig Davis of Caldwell; 2 brothers Joey Davis of Sacramento, CA and Brad Davis of Orlando, FL; niece Kaley Davis; father-in-law and mother-in-law Roger and Linda Martin of Caldwell. He is also survived by many players and friends.

The family will receive friends Thursday, September 10, 2015 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Chandler Funeral Home, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724. The family will later observe a private graveside service in Olive Cemetery with Rev. Jim Garrett officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Jerry Davis Memorial Fund c/o Community Savings Bank, 425 Main Street, Caldwell, Ohio 43724, funds will be used to promote youth baseball, harness racing and other passions Jerry had.
