James 'Jim' R. Paisley Sr.

James "Jim" R. Paisley Sr. age 81, of Lower Salem, OH passed away Monday, January 22, 2024 at the Arbors at Marietta in Marietta, OH. He was born November 3, 1942 in Zanesville, OH a son of the late Gale D. and Mae E. Lyon Paisley.

He served his nation in the US Army. Jim enjoyed reading and could often be found working in his garage. He drove trucks for Rodney Rohrbaugh Trucking for over 35 years prior to retiring.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by siblings Jeanette Williams and Charles "Bud" Dalton Paisley; brothers-in-law George Martin and Vernon Ray Hughes Jr.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Beverly J. Wharton Paisley, whom he married April 28, 1973; children Joyce (Don) Roffee of Cumberland, James (Tonya) Paisley Jr. of Germany, Michael Paisley of Cambridge, Donald (Tonya Johns) Paisley of Lower Salem, and Timothy (Stacy) Paisley of Sardis, OH; 9 grandchildren Gavin and Emma Paisley, Kaylee and Cody Sparks, Levi Paisley, Rachel, Sarah, Daniel, and Corey; 2 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters Betty (Dale) Hedge of Caldwell, Vivian Martin of Cumberland, and Dorothy Hughes of Cambridge. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family will receive friends for visitation Thursday, January 25, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Chandler Funeral Home, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724. A funeral service will be held Friday, January 26, 2024 at 1:00 PM in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Salem Township Cemetery in Lower Salem.
