Life Legacy

James E. Reyher, Navy Diver 1st Class, age 28 of Virginia Beach, VA formerly of Caldwell, OH died a Hero Tuesday, February 26th, 2013 at Aberdeen, MD. He was born March 27th, 1984 in Cambridge, OH the son of Steven Lee (Gale) Reyher of Quaker City, OH and Julie A. (Don) Crock of Caldwell. James enjoyed being outdoors doing anything, especially working out, diving and hiking. He could often be found on his motorcycle, in his Mach 1 Mustang or driving his truck. He was an avid Ohio State Football fan, and always enjoyed the Buckeyes with Beer and Brats. James was a 2003 graduate of Shenandoah High School, then went on to earn an Associate Degree in Compressed Air and Natural Gas from Hocking College, and eventually enlisted into the US Navy May 27th, 2008. He was most recently assigned with the Mobile Diving and Salvage Unit Two, based at Joint Expeditionary Base, Little Creek-Fort Story in Virginia Beach. James married the love of his life, Diana R. Kafury Reyher, of the home, on September 6th, 2008. He loved to spoil and aggravate her. He enjoyed being around friends and family, and his infectious smile always lit up the room. He will be remembered as an honorable, caring and loving man. In addition to his wife Diana, and parents, he was loved and will be missed by his family; Siblings Annie (Joe) Binkiewicz of Cambridge, OH; Lucas Reyher of Dayton, OH; Jacob Reyher of Thornville, OH; Wesley, Brittaney & Chris Crock; Aaron, Josh (Crystle) & Sarah Basler; paternal Grandmother, Berna Reyher of Rocky Ford, CO; Mother-In-Law, Janice L. Kafury of Caldwell; Father-In-Law Charles (Paula) Kafury of Cambridge; Extended Family, Angela (Mark) Hadix of Senecaville, OH and Lisa (David) Rhyne of North Carolina; Nieces and Nephews Matthew & Ella Binkiewicz and Charlize & Jackson Hadix; Cameron, Nicholas & Paige Botko; Elizabeth Rhyne and Apollo Basler. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and military brothers. Friends will be received Tuesday March 5th, 2013 from 2:00 to 8:00 PM at the Chandler Funeral Home, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724. A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday March 6th, 2013 at 11:00 AM in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Mark Slay Officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Caldwell, OH, with military graveside services conducted by the US Navy. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed in James' name to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675.
