Ivan G. Ellison

Ivan G. Ellison age 83 of Caldwell, OH passed away Sunday evening October 7th, 2012 at the Summit Acres Nursing and Rehab. He was born October 15th, 1928 in Noble County, OH a son of the late Roy and Cora Leonard Ellison. Ivan served and protected his country in the US Army, he attended the Caldwell United Methodist Church and could often be seen tending to the neighbors and many other yards around Caldwell. He retired from the former DANA Plant in Caldwell after many years of service. One of his greatest joys in life was spending time with his grandchildren, especially giving them lawn tractor rides. Ivan was a very active Mason and was a Past Master and 50 plus year member of Sharon Lodge #136 F & AM and was a plural and honorary member to several additional Lodges around the area. He was a 32nd Degree Mason - Scottish Rite Valley of Cambridge and a 50 plus year member of the Grand Commandery of Ohio. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by 3 Sisters Opal Wiley, Ruby King and Marjorie Gordon; 1 Brother Dale Ellison. He will be missed by his family, Wife Betty Irene Lowery Ellison of the Home, whom he married May 25th, 1963; 2 Sons Jeff (Amy) Ellison of Columbus, OH and Bill Ellison of Newport, OH; 4 Grandchildren Faith Ann Ellison, Cooper Steele Ellison, Ronnie Early and Lashley Early; 3 Great Grandchildren Lilly Poling, Camron Early and Keenon Early; 1 Sister Carol (Harold) Haga of Caldwell. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and friends. Friends will be received Wednesday October 10th, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at the Chandler Funeral Home, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724, with Masonic Services conducted at 7:45 PM. A Funeral Service will be held Thursday, October 11th, 2012 at 2:00 PM in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. William Pickenpaugh Officiating. Burial will follow in Sharon Cemetery, with military graveside services conducted by the Noble County Veteran Service Organizations.
