Iris Kay Ruble

Iris Kay Ruble age 70, of New Matamoras, OH passed away Thursday evening, January 16, 2020 at the Marietta Memorial Hospital in Marietta, OH. She was born May 6, 1949 in Pleasant County, WV a daughter of the late Amos and Ruth Farnsworth Hendershot. She will be remembered as someone who loved to be outside, whether she was gardening, working in her flowers, or hunting ginseng. She also enjoyed spending time with her dogs Bobo, Katie, and Daisy Mae. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by 2 brothers Amos Hendershot Jr. and Donald (Sarah) Hendershot; 2 sisters Dixie Hendershot and Karen Straight; brother-in-law Charles Slonaker. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Dean Ruble whom she married September 26, 1969; 2 brothers Earl (Ruby) Hendershot of New Matamoras and Jack Hendershot of Marietta; 3 sisters Jeannie (Jim) Schwab, Billie Slonaker, and Toni (Jeff) Scott all of New Matamoras; sister-in-law Jenny Hendershot of New Matamoras. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Cremation will be caringly observed at this time.
