Herman J. Hohman, age 86 of Caldwell, OH passed away Monday, January 23rd, 2012 at Summit Acres Nursing Home & Rehab in Caldwell, OH. He was born August 8th, 1925 in Noble County, OH a son of the late Emil and Cora Schott Hohman. Herman served and protected his nation in WWII. He was a member of the 101st Airborne Division which fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He was a member of St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Caldwell and the Caldwell VFW Post #4721. He retired from the former Dana Manufacturing Plant in Caldwell after 37 years of service. He enjoyed gardening and spending time doing yard work. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by 2 Brothers Morris Hohman and Jim Hohman; 2 Sisters Lucy Hildebrand and Edna Archer. He will be missed by his wife Edith Archer Hohman of the home, whom he married November 15th, 1955; 2 Sons Richard J. Hohman and Donnie (Julie) Hohman all of Caldwell; Daughter Martha (Dave) Morland of Zanesville, OH; 5 Grandchildren Josh Hohman, Megan Hohman, Jeremy Morland, Sean Morland and Paula Hohman; 1 Great Granddaughter Kali Astorga; 1 Brother Charles Hohman of Canton, OH; 1 Sister Edith Schramm of Zanesville. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and friends. Friends will be received Wednesday, January 25th, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at the Chandler Funeral Home, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724, with a Vigil Service held at 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, January 26th, 2012 at 10:30 AM at St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Caldwell with Rev. Father Chester Pabin serving as Celebrant. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Caldwell.
