Harry Mcauley

Harry McAuley, age 72 of Macksburg, OH passed away Thursday January 29, 2015 at his residence. He was born January 7, 1943 in Noble County, OH a son of the late Frank and Angie Carter McAuley.

Harry was a member of the Macksburg United Methodist Church in Macksburg. He was retired from the Iron Workers Local #787. He served and protected his nation in the U.S. Army as a member of one of the "Old Ironsides" units during the Vietnam War. He was a supporter and participant in the Relay for Life events. He was a farmer, who enjoyed being outdoors. He was an avid reader, with the Bible being one of his favorite books to read. He read the Bible completely through every year.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by 1 brother James McAuley, 4 sisters Hopa Woodford, Mary Ball, Martha Groves and Louise Haga.

Those left to cherish his memory are, wife Janet Mincks McAuley of the home, whom he married July 6, 1973; 2 daughters Angie McAuley Ward of Macksburg and Amanda Gray of Caldwell; 1 son Bradford (Fiance Carla Feldner) McAuley of Caldwell; 6 grandchildren Cody Ward, Ashley Spires, Emma and Danica McAuley, Cohen and Kaylee Gray; 5 brothers Edgar McAuley of Zanesville, Clyde McAuley of Caldwell, Frank (Carol) McAuley Jr. of Marietta, Ralph McAuley of Lowell, and Wilbur (Karen) McAuley of Phoenix, AZ. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and friends.

Friends will be received Monday, February 2, 2015 from 2:00 to 6:00 PM at the Chandler Funeral Home, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Ken Ogg officiating. Burial will follow in the Shafer Cemetery near Macksburg, with military graveside honors conducted by the Noble County Veteran Service Organizations.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be directed to the American Diabetes Association, 471 East Broad Street, Columbus, OH 43215.
