Grace Marie Wheeler

Grace Marie Wheeler age 91 of Caldwell, OH passed away Friday morning September 27, 2013 at the Genesis Hospice Morrison House in Zanesville, OH. She was born September 30, 1921 in Zanesville a daughter of the late James W. and Gertrude Bowen Gee.

She was a member of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in Pleasant City, OH and the Churchs Ladies Aid. She was also a member of the former Amazon Chapter #30 Order of the Eastern Star. Marie enjoyed square dancing and was a member of the Curly Qs for many years. She could often be found playing a good game of Euchre with her friends. She was an avid Cincinnati Reds fan. Marie will be remembered by her family most for never missing a grandchild or great-grandchilds sporting event or activity.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Warren Ladd Wheeler, who passed away June 11th, 1959; 2 brothers Harold Gee and James Kenneth Gee; 1 Sister Helen Louise Gee and 2 sisters-in-law Martha Gee and Phyllis Gee.

She was loved and will be missed by her family, a son Jack L. (Julie) Wheeler of Cumberland, OH and a daughter Bonnie (Ted) Catlett of Zanesville; 2 grandchildren Valerie (Mike) Dimmerling of Pleasant City and Kellie (Jared) Stutes Of Zanesville; 5 great-grandchildren Tyson (Candice), Joshua, and Danyel Dimmerling, Case and Coen Stutes; brother Charles Gee of Zanesville; 3 sisters-in-law Ethyl Gee of Zanesville, Maxine Wheeler of Pleasant City, and Lucy Jane Bates of Sarahsville. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and friends.

Friends will be received Monday, September 30, 2013 from 3:00 to 8:00 PM at the Chandler Funeral Home, 609 West Street Caldwell, OH 43724. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in Pleasant City, with Pastor Michael Poole Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
