Grace M Brown

Grace Marie Brown, age 92 of Belle Valley, OH formerly of Columbus, OH passed away Thursday January 2, 2014 at the Summit Acres Skilled Nursing and Rehab in Caldwell. She was born September 2, 1921 in Belle Valley, a daughter of the late Loren & Iva Pickinpaugh Carnes.

Grace was a 1939 Graduate of the former Belle Valley High School. She was a lifelong member of the Belle Valley United Methodist Church. She lived in Columbus for many years and retired from the former F&R Lazarus Department Store in Columbus.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by 2 brothers Bernard and infant Kenneth Carnes; infant sister Bernice Carnes and aunt Mildred Pickinpaugh.

She is survived by her husband Wayne T. Brown, whom she married January 1, 1950; 3 caregivers Doris McKee, Lois Ann Hurst and cousin Barbara Reed all of Caldwell; several nieces, nephews and friends. She also leaves her favorite pet, her cat Sweetie.

Friends will be received Monday, January 6, 2014 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Chandler Funeral Home, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724. A graveside service will follow at 3:00 PM at the Ebenezer Cemetery in Bethesda, OH with Rev. Thurman Harmon officiating.
