Geraldine 'Gerald' Sparks

Geraldine "Gerald" Sparks age 67 of Woodsfield, OH, formerly of Reynolds Ridge, VA passed away Sunday, October 23, 2022 at the Marietta Memorial Hospital in Marietta, OH. She was born March 21, 1955 in Richlands, VA a daughter of the late Roy "Gabby" Sr. and Dorothy Kinder Meadows.

She was an avid deer hunter, with any type of weapon from archery, muzzleloader, rifle, or shotgun. Gerald participated in competition shooting for many years, having held several Virginia titles. She enjoyed playing softball, sewing, and reading.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Randy Sparks Sr., whom she married December 18, 1971; baby brother Lonnie Ray Meadows; brother-in-law Elmer Brown; sister-in-law Linda Meadows; nephew Jonathan Brown; and companion Steve Hartzog.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children Randy (Becky) Sparks Jr., J.D. (Candy) Sparks all of North Carolina, and Marlena (Donnie) Elswick of Virginia; 4 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers Roy (Shelia) Meadows Jr. of Swords Creek, VA, Gregory (Tracie) Meadows, and Donnie Meadows all of Reynolds Ridge, VA; 2 sisters Kathy (Lloyd) Dunford of Reynolds Ridge, and Donna McClanahan of Woodsfield, who was her caretaker and with whom she made her home for the previous 2 years; 2 special friends Aleta Aldridge and Stanley Sparks. She is also survived by several by several nieces, nephews, and friends.
