Life Legacy
 George W. Vaughn, age 81, of Caldwell passed away on Monday Morning, September 13th, 2010 at his home. He was born February 2nd, 1929 in Caldwell, a son of the late Alfred "Alf" and Edna Matheney Vaughn. 
 
George served and protected his nation in the US Army as an Anti-tank Gun Crewman. He worked in high line construction in several states, Illinois, Oklahoma and Pennsylvania. He owned and operated coal trucks for several years and eventually retired from the B & N Coal Company in 1996 following 26 years of service. He enjoyed traveling, camping and his pets. 
 
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his first Wife Patricia Warren Vaughn, 3 Sisters Melva Batten, Mary Margaret Lowe and Norma Reiter; Brother James R. Vaughn; 1 Sister-In-Law and 3 Brothers-In-Law. 
 
He will be missed by his family, Wife Mary Lou Gardner Vaughn of the home, whom he married April 11th, 1980; Son Mike Foraker of the home; Daughter Linda of Cambridge, OH; Special Daughter Mari Jo Reis of Caldwell; 5 Grandchildren Penny (Lee) Clark, William (Peggy) Palmer, Lake (Devon) Palmer, Lacey Palmer and Josh Palmer; 7 Great Grandchildren; Brother Jack (Mary) Vaughn of Caldwell. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and friends. 
 
Friends will be received Wednesday, September 15th, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at the Chandler Funeral Home, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724. A Graveside Service will be held Thursday at 11:00 AM in Dudley Cemetery near Caldwell, with Rev. Helen Lewis Officiating. Burial will follow in Dudley Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Marietta Home Health & Hospice, 210 N. 7th Street, Suite #400, Marietta, Ohio 45750 or any Animal Shelter or Humane Society of your choosing.
