His Legacy.... Eugene Hardy, age 80, of Cambridge, Ohio passed peacefully at home in Cambridge, Ohio on February 27, 2007. He was a man of great heart. His family celebrates and continues his legacy of love.
Gene was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on February 28, 1926. He served in World War II, graduated from Edinboro State Teachers College in Edinboro, Pa., and married Margaret Elizabeth "Betty" McConnell in 1950. They were divorced later in life and she precedes him in death.

Gene was an excellent and inspirational speaker, writer, motivator and teacher. He loved to have fun, and enjoyed great conversation, especially about politics. His favorites were good food, travel, a constant cup of coffee, cigarettes, and a wonderful game of cards with good friends.

His Family... Eugene loved his family fiercely. His life companion, Judy Keylor of Cambridge, Ohio, his son and wife, Eugene and Pamela Hardy, and their sons, Aaron and Chris of Dewitt, Michigan, his daughter and partner, Terra Victoria and Erika Morgan, and their son, Burke Kenny of Olympia, Washington, and his granddaughters Anez and Tori Grywalsky of Byesville, Ohio survive him, as do an aunt, several cousins, two nieces and their children in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Thank you, Gene, Dad, and Grandpa for 80 fantastic years.

His Farewell Service... Gene's body was bequeathed to the Ohio University Willed Body Program for research and donation. He requested that there be no memorial service, but instead for friends to simply share a meal with their own families. His family requests that donations be made to a Hospice Organization of your choice. Chandler Funeral Home, 609 West Street, Caldwell, Ohio has been entrusted to care for the family.
