Rev. Eugene Jefferson Brown, age 96, of Caldwell, formerly of Quaker City, Ohio died Friday (June 24, 2005) afternoon. He was born September 3, 1908 in Montgomery, LA the son of the late David Henry & Callie Virginia (Davison) Brown. He graduated from God's Bible College in Cincinnati, OH, received his Bachelors Degree from Ohio University in Athens, OH and earned his Divinity Degree from Wittenberg University in Springfield, OH. He had been a Methodist Minister since 1941. His favorite pastimes were hunting, fishing, and gardening. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Laura Mae Brown who passed away May 10, 1998. He is also preceded in death by two Sisters and four Brothers. He is survived by three sons Hensely (Ruthanne) Brown of Brazoria, TX, David Brown of Indianapolis, IN, Daniel (Cindy) Brown of Lexington, SC; two daughters Janet (Mick) Muffet of Quaker City, OH and Julie (Don) Crock of Caldwell, OH. He is also survived by 19 Grandchildren, 13 Great-Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 3:00 to 9:00 pm Monday (June 27, 2005) at the Chandler Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 609 West Street, Caldwell, Ohio. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday (June 28, 2005) at 11:00 am at the Kennonsburg United Methodist Church, Kennonsburg, OH with Pastor Mark Slay officiating. Burial will be held Wednesday (June 29, 2005) at 12:00 noon at Evergreen Union Cemetery in Waverly, OH. Donations may be made to the Kennonsburg United Methodist Church, 56460 Wells Road, Senecaville, OH 43780.
