Her Legacy.... Elsie P. "Susie" VanFossen, age 79 of Caldwell, OH passed away Tuesday Afternoon (Dec. 11, 2007) at her residence. She was born Oct. 10, 1928 in Crumtown, OH a daughter of the late Wayne and Hazel McElfresh Wilkinson. Susie was the owner and operator of Susie's Beauty Shop in Florence Addition for 34 years. She enjoyed quilting in her free time. She was a member of the Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Byesville, OH since 1979. Her Family... Surviving are her Husband of 60 years Ellis W. VanFossen, whom she married Sept. 7, 1947; 1 Son Daryl VanFossen of Little Egg Harbor, NJ, 1 Daughter Sheila of Cambridge, 7 Grandchildren, 12 Great-Grandchildren, 1 Sister Freda Welch of Tennessee. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by 2 Daughters, Infant Paula Rae VanFossen and Jane Moore; 3 Brothers. Her Farewell Service... Friends will be received Friday (Dec. 14, 2007) from 11:00am to1:00pm at the Chandler Funeral Home, 609 West Street, Caldwell, Ohio 43724, with a funeral service following at 1:00PM in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jim Garrett officiating. Burial will follow in Crum Ridge Cemetery near Stafford. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Guernsey Inc, P.O. Box 1165, Cambridge, Ohio 43725.
