Ellis Wade Vanfossen

Ellis Wade VanFossen, age 83 of Caldwell, OH passed away Thursday Morning, March 22nd, 2012 at his residence. He was born February 5th, 1929 near Stafford, OH a son of the late Frank and Myrtle Springer VanFossen. Ellis was formerly employed at the Baker & Noon Coal Company and eventually retired from the Central Ohio Coal Company. He was a member of the Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Byesville, OH. He was a member and could often be found with the McDonald's Coffee Club. He enjoyed spending his free time gardening and fishing. Along with his wife Susie, Ellis lived in Florence for 61 years before moving to the Senior Apartments in Caldwell. In addition to her parents he is preceded in death by his wife Elsie P. "Susie" Wilkinson VanFossen, whom he married September 7th, 1946 and who passed December 11th, 2007; 2 Daughters, Infant Paula Rae VanFossen and Jane Moore; 2 Sisters Evelyn Miller and Martha Cunningham. He was loved and will be missed by his family 1 Son Daryl VanFossen of Little Egg Harbor, NJ; 1 Daughter Sheila Bayly of Byesville; 7 Grandchildren, 13 Great-Grandchildren; 1 Brother Leonard (Joan) VanFossen of Marietta, OH. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and friends. Friends will be received Friday , March 23rd, 2012 from 2:00 to 6:00 PM at the Chandler Funeral Home, 609 West Street, Caldwell, Ohio 43724. A funeral service will be held Saturday, March 24th, 2012 at 1:00 PM in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel, with Frank Love Officiating. Burial will follow in Crum Ridge Cemetery near Stafford. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Guernsey, Inc, P.O. Box 1165, Cambridge, Ohio 43725.
