Virginia Harper Wagner

Ella Virginia Harper Wagner age 94 of Zanesville, OH, formerly of Dexter City, OH passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at The Oaks at Northpointe Rehab & Healthcare Center in Zanesville, OH. She was born on November 29, 1930 in downtown Crooked Tree located in Noble County, OH, daughter of the late Lawrence J. and Bessie Cleo Gardner Harper.

She attended Jackson Elementary School located between the villages of Crooked Tree and Dungannon. Virginia went on to graduate from the Dexter City High School in 1948. She spent most of her life on her farm in Jackson Township in Noble County, OH. Virginia loved country music, her dogs, and Ohio State Athletics.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother Dwight R. Harper.

Those left to cherish her memory are her brother Fred (Marlene) Harper of Zanesville; nephews Rick (Rita) Harper of Zanesville and Mike Harper of Dexter City, OH; niece Diana Harper Pride (David Sprankle) of Zanesville; great-nephews and great-niece Brad (Laura) Tom, Richard Harper Jr., Josh Pride, and Megan (Todd) Henry.

The family would like to thank the caring staff at The Oaks at Northpointe for the wonderful care they offered to Virginia during her stay there.

Cremation will be observed as per her wishes with no additional services held at this time. Inurnment will be held at a later date. Chandler Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724 has been entrusted to care for the family.
