Life Legacy
 Eleanor Moore, resident of Caldwell, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, November 22, at Summit Acres Nursing Home. She was born July 18, 1913, and grew up in Belmont, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband, Robert C. Moore, founder and owner of R.C. Moore Lumber Company; her parents, Emma and Ross Thornberry; twin sister, Elizabeth Thornberry Hayes; and her brother, Richard Thornberry. Her husband, Bob, was the love of her life and she his. They were married in Belmont, Ohio, in 1938, and their marriage, deep affection and abiding love for each other spanned over sixty years. 
 
She was a 1931 graduate of Belmont High School and received a Bachelor of Education degree from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio, in 1935. She was a member of Phi Mu sorority along with her identical twin sister, Libby. She was a life-long member of the Caldwell United Methodist Church and active in Circle One, a women's group in the church. She was also a life-long member of Eastern Star. 
 
Eleanor will be mourned and deeply missed by her family. Her loved ones are her son, Robert Chad Moore of Caldwell, Ohio, and her daughter, Molly Elizabeth Moore of Dallas, Texas. Her grandchildren are Andrea Lynn Moore (John) Cohen, Dallas, Texas; Michael Tyler (Terri) Moore, Caldwell, Ohio; Tate Patrick (Mary Beth) Moore, Oxford, Mississippi; Matthew Moore (Meredith) Himelfarb, Dallas, Texas; Adam Barret Himelfarb, Houston, Texas; and youngest, Brittany Layne Himelfarb of Nashville, Tennessee. She is also survived by two great-grandchildren, Miles Topper Moore and Townes Alexander Moore, of Caldwell, Ohio; a niece, Lana (David) Anderson; a nephew, Larry (Sharon) Hayes; and great and great-great nieces and nephews. 
 
Eleanor was adored, admired and loved by both family and friends. She set a standard of excellence in all that she did. She was always willing to help those in need and had a kind, loving and most generous heart. She was a woman of her word, admired by her peers and respected in her community. Eleanor conducted herself with style, class and grace while still remaining humble. She shared with all her flair for cooking, canning, crafting and lent her gardening expertise to all. She was a founder of the Caldwell Garden Club and served many terms as president. Her "Best of Show" arrangements were often exhibited at the Noble County Fair. An avid bridge player, she belonged to HTH and numerous other Caldwell bridge clubs. 
 
The Moore family would like to express their gratitude and appreciation to Summit Acres Nursing Home and their staff and, especially to Don Crock, for the loving care and kindness they extended. Thank you, also, to all who took the time to visit with her. 
 
A funeral service will be held Monday, November 28th, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel, 609 West Street, Caldwell, Ohio, with Pastor Jim Cooper Officiating. Burial will follow at the Dudley Cemetery near Caldwell.
