Edward L. Hurd

Edward L. Hurd age 87, of Macksburg, OH passed away Sunday, March 17, 2024 at the Marietta Memorial Hospital in Marietta, OH. He was born October 17, 1936 in Dryden, VA a son of the late Lawrence and Beulah N. Chester Hurd.

He enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and working on the farm.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Patricia J. Mullineaux Hurd whom he married August 9, 1957 and who passed on July 28, 2003; son Lawrence E. Hurd Jr.; 2 great-grandchildren Skylar Pace and Ayden LaLonde; two sisters Vonda M. Lipe and Nancy Jerline Lawson and brother Hansford "Hank" J. Hurd.

Those left to cherish his memory are his children Rebecca A. Bias, Norman J. Hurd both of Macksburg and Jerry Hurd of Mariettta; grandchildren Lawrence E. Hurd III, Shaun M. Meyer, Amber M. LaLonde, Raymond Bombalek, Ryan Bombalek, Amiee Pace, Chelsea Hurd, and Makayla Hurd; great-grandchildren Jacob Engroff Meyer, Lawrence Edward Hurd IV, Autumn LaLonde, Avan LaLonde, Addilyn LaLonde, Gunner Pace, and Everly Hurd; two sisters Sylvia J. Hanson and Beulah Marie Duff both of Tennessee; brother-in-law Neil Depugh of Waverly, OH; special friend Elmer "Fudge" Thomas. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Cremation will be observed, and no additional services will be held at this time. Chandler Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724 has been entrusted to care for the family.
