Edna M Truax

Edna M. Hayes Truax age 97 of Caldwell, OH passed away Saturday morning, November 17th, 2012 at the Summit Acres Nursing & Rehab in Caldwell. She was born September 9th, 1915 in Calais, OH a daughter of the late Daniel and Belle Hutchins Hayes. She was a lifelong Methodist and mostly recently a member of the Caldwell United Methodist Church. She was a 60 plus year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Past Matron of the Former Summerfield Chapter #238 Order of the Eastern Star, District Deputy and the Grand Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star in 1966. Most recently she was a member of the Masterton Chapter #584 Order of the Eastern Star. For many hears she was a faithful helper to her husband, by providing the children's message in the churches he served. She always enjoyed her flowers, but what she loved most was being a wife, mother and grandmother to her family. In addition to her family she is preceded in death by her husband Rev. Durel E. Truax, whom she married March 19, 1941 and passed away July 9th, 2004; son Bobby; 4 brothers Truman, Allen "Cap", Irvin "Chick" and David Hayes; 4 sisters Nona Hayes, Susie Hannahs Butler, Nellie Keylor and Grace Claus. She was loved and will be missed by her family, daughter Patsy Truax of Cumberland, OH; 2 sons John Truax of Columbus, OH and Gary (Cheryl) Truax of Woodsfield, OH; 2 grandchildren Corey (Erica) Truax of Kentucky, Michelle Wegner of Fredericksburg, VA; 2 Great Grandchildren Austin and Nolan Wegner. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and friends. Friends will be received Monday, November 19th, 2012 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Chandler Funeral Home, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724 with Order of the Eastern Star services observed Monday at 6:00 PM. A Graveside Service will be held Tuesday, November 20th, 2012 at 1:00 PM in the Eastern Cemetery in Summerfield, OH, with Pastor Jim Cooper Officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be directed to the Caldwell United Methodist Church, 537 Main Street, Caldwell, OH 43724.
