Dorothy Ann Sehlinger

Dorothy Ann Sehlinger age 88, of Pleasant City, OH formerly of Belleville, IL passed away Friday, February 7, 2020 at her home surrounded by her loving family and friends, under the care of the Hospice of Guernsey Inc. She was born August 5, 1931 in Belleville, IL a daughter of the late Irvin J. and Magdalen Carolyn Schumacher Schanuel.

She was employed in Belleville, IL for Dr. Joseph Needles for over 22 years. She was on a bowling team and once bowled a 299 game. Along with her late husband Norman, she was active in the Smithton Sportsmans Club and they also raised homing pigeons. She enjoyed dancing and was an avid animal lover. She could often be found working on crossword puzzles or a word find. Dorothy will always be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.

She is preceded in death by her husband Norman William Sehlinger whom she married April 12, 1952 and who passed away April 19, 1997 and a son-in-law John R. Tucker who passed away June 29, 2019

Those left to cherish her memory are her four daughters Karen (Thomas) McKenna of Medina, OH, Mary (John "Bill") Carpenter of Byesville, OH, Lynn Tucker of Cambridge, OH, and Cathy (Steve) Egnot of Pleasant City, OH; grandchildren Beth (Tracy) Presnell, Kari (Jon) Villwock, Jessi (K.C.) Morris, and Ty (Alexis "Lexi") Egnot; great-grandchildren Keeley, Grady, Tommy, Rhett, and Caleb. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family will receive friends for a memorial visitation Wednesday, February 19, 2020 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Chandler Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724. A memorial service will conclude visitation Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at 7:00 PM in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Merlin Wentworth officiating. Inurnment will take place at a later date, in St. Michaels Cemetery in Pleasant City next to her husband Norman. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed in Dorothys name to the Hospice of Guernsey Inc., P.O. Box 1165
