Donna Jean Doan

Donna Jean Doan age 86, of Caldwell, OH passed away Thursday, January 25, 2024 at Altercare of Cambridge in Cambridge, OH. She was born July 12, 1937 in Allen County, IN a daughter of the late George and Rosella Dager Young.

She was an avid crocheter and reader for many years. Donna was a member of the Guernsey Auxiliary 386 of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Cambridge. She was employed with the former RCA Plant for 10 years and NCR Plant for 25 years prior to retiring in 1992.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband John R. LaFollete 1955-1982; a son Kenny LaFollette; two sisters Mary Ann Willey and Carolyn (George) Pavlik; brother Larry Young; daughter-in-law Donna LaFollette, and sister-in-law Emogene Young.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Phillip E. Doan, whom she married February 21, 1986; son Robert LaFollette of Newcomerstown, OH; daughter-in-law Melody LaFollette of Sarahsville; two grandchildren Ronnie (Catie) LaFollette of Sarahsville, OH and Chasity LaFollette of Blacklick, OH; great-grandchildren Reece, Kenzie, and Lane LaFollette all of Sarahsville; 1 stepson; 4 stepdaughters; several step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren; two brothers James (Patsy) Young of Byesville, OH and William Young of Caldwell; two sisters Joyce (Richard) Eltringham of Cambridge and Patricia (Charles) Justice of Sarahsville; sister-in-law Ruth Young of Cambridge. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family will receive friends for visitation Tuesday, January 30, 2024 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Chandler Funeral Home, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at 11:00 AM in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel, with her son Robert LaFollette celebrating her life. Burial will follow in the Village View Cemetery in Sarahsville.
