Donald Lashley

Donald R. Lashley, age 75, of Caldwell went to be with his Lord Wednesday evening (Jan. 11, 2006). He was born Oct. 7, 1930 in Kennonsburg, OH a son of the late Leonard R. and Freda Ann (Hague) Lashley. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Caldwell, member of the morning coffee crew at Lori's Restaurant. He served his country and protected our freedom by serving in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. In the hope of helping others he made a caring gift as a tissue donor. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by three sisters Winifred Rich, Mildred Meighen and Wilma Sell; special mother-in-law Alice Brown. Surviving are his wife Delores (Brown) Lashley of the home whom he married June 6, 1959; two daughters Tania Lynne Hill of Newnan, GA and Gloria A. (Jay) Caldwell of Caldwell; four grandchildren Jason and Amanda Hill, Marc Macenko and Bradley Caldwell; two brothers William R. (Esther) Lashley of Kennonsburg, OH and Leonard R. Lashley Jr. of Sarahsville, OH; two sisters Bernadine (Harold) Flood of Quaker City and Mary Alice (George) Rumble of Canton, OH. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Saturday (Jan. 14, 2006) from 2 to 9 pm at Chandler Funeral Home, 609 West Street, Caldwell, Ohio 43724. The funeral service will be held Sunday (Jan. 15, 2006) at 2:00 pm in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with the Pastor Gary Jacobs officiating. Burial will follow in Hoskinsville Cemetery in Belle Valley with Military Graveside Services conducted by the Caldwell VFW Post #4721 and Belle Valley American Legion Post #641. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Pine Lake Camp c/o First Baptist Church of Caldwell, P.O. Box #272, Caldwell, Ohio 43724.
