His Legacy.... Donald Lee DeVolld, age 77, of Belle Valley, OH passed away at home on Tuesday (April 1, 2008) at his residence. He was born on Dec. 20, 1930 in Caldwell, OH a son of the late Marshall and Irene Hess DeVolld.
Don was a 1948 graduate of Belle Valley High School. He served 4 years in the U.S. Air Force as a Control Tower Operator. He was stationed in Washington D.C. and Japan. He worked for the U.S. Post Office for 37 years in Dexter City, Macksburg and retired from Marietta.
Don had many interests and talents. His hobbies included flea markets, yard saling, computers and "tinkering." He was the family "handyman", carpenter and mechanic. He enjoyed trips to Florida in the winter, mowing grass in the summer, restoring antique furniture and making old things look new.
His Family... Surviving are his wife Imogene Carrel DeVolld of the home, three sons Carrel (Amy) DeVolld of Sarahsville, Darrel (Laurie) DeVolld of Belle Valley and Donnie (Lashona) DeVolld of Sarahsville; two daughters Marsha (Brad) Patterson of Largo, FL and Kimberly DeVolld of Charlotte, NC; 13 Grandchildren, 11 Great Grandchildren with 2 more on the way; one brother Rick (Barb) DeVolld of Columbus, OH; Also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by one brother Jimmy and infant sister Claudette.
 
His Farewell Service... Friends will be received Friday (April 4, 2008) from 4 to 8 PM at the Chandler Funeral Home, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724. A Funeral Service will be held Saturday at 11:00 AM in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim Garrett Officiating. Burial will follow in Crooked Tree Cemetery, where the Noble County Veteran Service Organizations will conduct military graveside services. Immediately following the graveside services everyone is invited to a meal at the Noble Learning Center (former Armory) in Caldwell.
