Don C. Moore age 85, of Caldwell, OH passed away Sunday June 16, 2013 at the Genesis Hospice Morrison House in Zanesville, OH. He was born June 20, 1927 in Noble County, OH a son of the late Samuel and Mildred Groves Moore. Don graduated from the former Sarahsville School and served and protected our nation in the US Army from 1945 to 1949. Don owned and operated several businesses including the state liquor store in Belle Valley, Golden Plaza, Wolf Run Drive-In and the Sears Catalog Store. He retired from the former Gould Corp. and the Noble County Highway Department. He was a 50 year member of the Olive Lodge #210 F & AM and was a 32nd Degree Mason - Scottish Rite Valley of Cambridge. He was also a life member of the Caldwell VFW Post #4721. He enjoyed his weekly S.O.B. (Sweet Old Buzzards) Meetings, cookouts, trips to Amish country, baseball, Faye's Cooking, hunting, woodworking and most of all spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife Helen Kirk Moore, son Don 'Cliff' Moore and sister Tarcella Buckey. He was loved and will be missed by his family, wife Faye Atkinson Moore of the home; a daughter Diana Caron of Destin, FL; Daughter-In-Law Joyce Moore of Caldwell; stepson Eddie McKee (Fiancee Tammy Offenberger) of Caldwell, 3 stepdaughters Wanda (Todd) Hetzer of Marietta, OH, Tawnya (Joel) Singree of Beverly, OH and Lisa Smith of Macksburg; 11 grandchildren Lt. Comdr. Scott (Susan) Caron of FL, Shane (Suzanna) Caron of TX, Shana Tatum of FL, Katrina (James) Clark of KY, Judy (Donald) Egnot of Macksburg, Brian (Liz) Archer, Steven McKee and Shannon Mckee all of Caldwell, Devan and Dylan Stack of Beverly and Cody Smith of New Concord; 16 great-grandchildren. A special thank you to Jo Louise Brown of Zoar OH, a dear and life long friend. Friends will be received Wednesday June 19, 2013 from 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 PM at the Chandler Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724, with a Masonic Service conducted at 7:00 PM prior to the funeral service. A funeral service will begin following the Masonic Service Wednesday evening at 7:00 PM with Pastor Gary Fitzgerald officiating. Concluding the funeral services at the funeral home the Noble County Veteran Service Organizations will conduct military honors. Inurnment will be held at a later date at the Village View Cemetery in Sarahsville, OH. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Olive Lodge #210 F & AM, 47852 OR&W Tunnel Road, Caldwell, OH 43724.
