Dolores P. Archer

Dolores P. Archer age 94 of Caldwell, OH passed away Wednesday April 23, 2014 at the Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center in Cambridge, OH. She was born July 31, 1919 in Harrietsville, OH a daughter of the late Henry U. and Laura Zwick Schott.

She was a member of the Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Belle Valley, OH for many years and most recently was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church in Caldwell. She was also active in the Catholic Womens Club. She was a licensed beautician, and was a devoted Cleveland Indians fan. She enjoyed baking, quilting and gardening. She will forever be remembered as the "Noble County Pie Lady."

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Harold L. Archer, whom she married Sept. 28, 1940 and who passed away Dec. 17, 1972; great-grandson Colton James Miley; 3 brothers Paul, Bob and Henry Schott Jr.; 1 sister Betty Oretle; 2 sons-in-law Norm Chambers and Don Moore Jr.

She was loved and will be missed by her family, 4 sons James H. (Barbara) Archer, Jerry (Linda) Archer, Joseph (Sue) Archer all of Caldwell, John "Jack" Sandy Archer of Sarahsville; 6 daughters Judy (Jim) Dennis of Caldwell, Janice Chambers of Mt. Gilead, OH, Joyce Moore of Caldwell, Jeanie (Steve) Rich of Sarahsville, Julie (Jimmie) Moore of Sarahsville and Jill (Bill) Franklin II of Sarahsville; 30 Grandchildren; 64 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; 4 sisters Pauline Schafer, Mildred Ackley both of Caldwell, Beulah Cardarelli of Akron, OH and Marilyn Fleming of New Zealand; sister-in-law Betty Archer of Caldwell. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and friends.

Friends will be received Friday, April 25, 2014 from 2 to 8 PM, with a Vigil Service at 8:00 PM at the Chandler Funeral Home, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, April 26 2014 at St. Stephen Catholic Church in Caldwell, with Rev. Father Chester Pabin and Rev. Father Robert Borer serving as co-celebrants. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Caldwell.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Nationwide Children's Hospital, 700 Children's Drive, Columbus, OH 43205.
