Debra A. Kerns

Debra A. Kerns age 61, of Summerfield, OH formerly of Alliance, OH passed away unexpectedly Tuesday January 20, 2015 at Southeastern Med in Cambridge, OH. She was born December 22, 1953 in Salem, OH a daughter of the late Ray and Erma Fryfogle Bauman.

Debra retired as a bus driver for the Alliance City Schools. She was a real estate agent for Re/Max in Alliance and later worked for Guernsey County Board of DD. She was a member of the Summerfield Church of Christ. She will always be remembered for the love she had for her Lord and her family. She enjoyed horseback riding, cooking from scratch, cross stitching, hunting and reading her Bible. She and her husband Jay Dee took joy in raising miniature donkeys.

Those left to cherish her memory are, her husband and the love of her life Jay Dee Kerns, whom she married June 3, 2006; 2 daughters Wendy (Mike) Byler of Alliance and Meegan (Robert Hottinger) Kerns of Kimbolton, OH; 3 sons Bob (Christie) McNutt of Alliance, Bryan (Kim) Kerns of Zanesville, OH, and Chad (Tracey) Kerns of Kimbolton; 14 grandchildren Cody and Courtney Byler, Evan and Eliza McNutt, Drew, Ethan and Carson Kerns, Austin and Jake Mahan, Cooper and Laken Kerns, Brynn, Brady and Brycen Hottinger; sister Alona (Don) Everson of Canfield, OH; 2 brothers Dennis (Dee) Bauman of Minerva, OH and Mike (Kathy) Bauman of Beloit, OH and mother-in-law Betty Mallett of Caldwell. She is also survived by several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends.

Friends will be received Friday, January 23, 2015 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Chandler Funeral Home, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724. A funeral service will be held Saturday, January 24, 2015 at 1:00 PM in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel, with Dick Harris officiating. Burial will follow in Eastern Cemetery in Summerfield.
