Dale Jeffers Lothes

Dale Jeffers Lothes age 86 of Beverly, OH passed away Thursday evening, June 12, 2014 at the Marietta Memorial Hospital in Marietta, OH. He was born March 4, 1928 on the family farm in Jackson Township, Noble County, Ohio, a son of the late Henry Adam Lothes and Grace Gertrude Jeffers Lothes Stacy.

Dale served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He was a lifetime member of the NRA and a member of American Legion Post #750 in Lowell. He was retired after many years as an Instrument Repairman for the Ohio Power Plant in Beverly. Dale enjoyed fishing and spending time in his flower gardens. He was an avid reader and spent much time researching genealogy.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Donna J. Secrest Lothes, whom he married April 9, 1950 and who passed away August 8, 2012, a sister Marion Lothes and son-in-law Earl L. Johnson.

He was loved and will be missed by his family: daughters Melody Lothes of Norfolk, MA, Linda Lothes of Marietta, Abby (Randy) Merrow of Beverly and Carolyn Johnson of Marietta; 6 grandchildren Joe (Allison) Sayre, Danielle (Greg) Erb, Heather (Jeremy) Hesson, Cody (fiance Lacey Sweeney) Sayre, Dylan Sayre, Lotus McLaurin; and 6 great-grandchildren Ava and Ella Sayre, Brayden and Sydney Erb, Grady and Mia Hesson.

Friends will be received Monday, June 16, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at the Chandler Funeral Home, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at 11:00 AM in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jim Garrett officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Lowell, OH with military graveside services conducted by the American Legion Post #750.
