Charles C. "Charlie" Stiers, age 79 of Caldwell, OH passed away Saturday Evening (April 11, 2009) at his residence. He was born October 12th, 1929 in Noble County, OH a son of the late Clifford T. and Marybelle Bailey Stiers. Charlie served and protected his country in the U.S. Marine Corps stationed at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. He was General Manager of the former Barnhouse Chevrolet, Caldwell Motors and was in sales for Southeastern Equipment. He owned and operated his own satellite business for several years. He was one of the original founders of the Noble County Airport and assisted in its creation. He held a Commercial Pilots license for many years. He was a member and Past Master of Sharon Lodge # 136 F. & A.M. Two of his great loves were his dogs and motorcycles. Surviving is his Companion in Life Deb Meyer of Caldwell; Two Sons C. Nicholas Stiers of Belle Valley and C. Eric (Barbara) Stiers of Zanesville; Grandson Charles N. (Diane) Stiers of Hopewell, OH; Special Cousin Rick (Connie) Stiers of Caldwell; Best Friend Stan Randolph of Caldwell; Also survived by his beloved dogs Mudge, Nosey and Matthew. In keeping with Charlie's wishes a Caring Cremation was observed. Friends will be received Wednesday, May 6th, 2009 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Chandler Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724 with Masonic Services held at 8:30 pm by Sharon Lodge #136 F. & A.M. The family has suggested those wishing to send Memorial Contributions in Charlie's Honor to consider the Hospice of Guernsey Inc., P.O. Box #1165, Cambridge, OH 43725.
