Carlos George Ponchak

Carlos "George" Ponchak, age 62 of Waterford, OH passed away Tuesday July 30, 2013, with his family by his side, at the Marietta Memorial Hospital in Marietta, OH. George was born August 28, 1950 in McConnelsville, OH a son of the late Carlos Andrew and Jean Louise Black Ponchak. He served in the US Army from 1970 to 1976 and was stationed in Okinawa-jima, Japan.

In addition to his parents, George is preceded in death by twin brothers Ronald and Donald Ponchak; one sister Shirley (Kent) Place.

George is survived by his wife, of nearly 40 years Charlotte Ponchak, whom he married August 27, 1973; one son Craig (Taneka) Ponchak of Waterford; one daughter Jennifer Ponchak of Parkersburg, WV; five grandchildren, who he loved very much, Alyssa McGuinness, Alex McGuinness, Aleea Crites, Drew Ponchak and Cole Ponchak; one brother Mike (Linda) Ponchak of Stockport, OH; two sisters Mary (Jim) Phillips of Ellenboro, NC and Susan (Charles) Whipkey of Waterford and his dog Russell.

A graveside service will be held Saturday August 10, 2013 at 10:00 AM in the Waterford Cemetery, with military honors. Immediately following the graveside service, the family would like to invite friends for a meal at the Valley Inn, Beverly, OH. Chandler Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724 has been entrusted to care for the family.
