Carlos B. Lawrence

Carlos B. Lawrence, age 87, of Caldwell, OH passed away Sunday Morning May 24th, 2009 at the Kobacker House Hospice in Columbus. He was born July 31st, 1921 in Sharon, Ohio a son of the late Pearley C. and Jessie M. Steen Lawrence. He graduated from the Sharon Rural High School in 1940. He served and protected his nation in the United States Army for over 20 years, serving in three wars; WWII, Korea and Vietnam. He was a proud member of the 95th Infantry Division known as the "Iron Men of Metz." He was a Life Member of the DAV Chapter 87 in Caldwell, Belle Valley American Legion Post 641, and the Military Order of the Purple Heart Chapter 625 in Byesville. He was also a member of Sharon Lodge #136 F. & A.M. and a life member of the York Rite - Red Cross of Constantine under the jurisdiction of Scotland. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a Son Larry Edward Lawrence; Two Brothers Herbert and George Lawrence; Two Sisters Mae Gardner and Mildred Pickinpaugh. Surviving are his wife Rose Lawrence of the home, whom be married August 20th, 1953; Two Daughters Jessie M. (David) Phillips of Dearborn, MI and Peggy N. (Don) Bondy of Sylvania, OH; One Son Terry A. (Vella) Lawrence of Waterford, OH; Nine Grandchildren Jennifer (Shaun) Bright, Kristina and Levi (Becky) Wilson, Meaghan, Janice, Nicky and Brandon Lawrence, Melissa and David Bondy; Three Great Grandchildren Sydney R. and Khepri Bright and Tate J. Leasure; One Sister Clarice Cisler of Elon, NC. Also survived by several nieces, nephews and friends. A caring cremation will be observed and a graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family.
