Brooks D May

Brooks D. May age 80, of Cumberland, OH passed away Friday, October 30, 2015 at Southeastern Med in Cambridge, OH. He was born November 2, 1934 in Clay County, West Virginia, a son of the late Grover C. and Mary Ellen West May.

Brooks retired following 16 years of service with Sidwell Brothers. He was a proud member of the UMWA Local #1604. He was employed by Asplundh Tree Service for 22 years. He enjoyed farming, deer hunting and conversing with the many employees and customers of M&M Delivery and M&M Feed--he loved to bullshit.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter Sandra May Burchett as well as 9 brothers and 3 sisters.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Donnie Ruth Carte May, whom he married February 6, 1954; daughter Darlene (Joseph) Miser of Cumberland; 3 granddaughters Melissa Miser, Miranda Miser, and Jennifer (Josh) Miser Zaayer; great-grandson Gabriel Danger Zaayer; a son-in-law Jarret Dale Burchett and his wife Patty. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and friends.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, November 4, 2015 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Chandler Funeral Home, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724. A funeral service will be held Thursday November 5, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Cumberland Cemetery in Cumberland.
