Boyd R. Wagner, age 82, of Dexter City, OH passed away Tuesday (November 4, 2008) at the Summit Acres Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation in Caldwell. He was born October 25, 1926 in Jackson Township in Noble County, a son of the late Daniel Perry and Docia Reed Wagner. Boyd served and protected his Country in the United States Army Air Force during WWII in the Asiatic Pacific Theater. He served as a Noble County Commissioner for 12 years and was formerly employed at the B & N Coal Company. He was a member of the Dexter City American Legion Post #418 and enjoyed spending time farming. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by 3 Sisters Marie Estadt, Edna Schilling and Faye Henchcliff; 3 Brothers Denver, Glenn and Infant Lewis Dale Wagner. Surviving are his wife Virginia Harper Wagner, of the home, whom he married July 7th, 1948; Brother-In-Law Fred (Marlene) Harper of Zanesville, OH. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In keeping with Boyd's wishes a Caring Cremation will take place and the family will observe graveside services Sunday (November 16, 2008) at 1:30 PM in the Crooked Tree Cemetery with Pastor Ken Ogg Officiating. Chandler Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724 has been entrusted to care for the family. Boyd's family suggests that those wishing to make a memorial contribution in his memory to consider Strecker Cancer Center, 401 Matthews Street, Marietta, OH 45750.
