Billy M. Wheeler

Billy M. Wheeler age 82, of Caldwell, OH passed away Thursday, December 10, 2015 at his home, under the care of Hospice of Guernsey Inc. He was born September 27, 1933 in Noble County, OH a son of the late Raymond and Doris Warehime Wheeler.

Billy served and protected his nation in the US Army from 1954 to 1956. He retired from the former Mahle Plant in Caldwell in 1999 after many years of service. Billy enjoyed the outdoors and could often be found spending time with his good friend Charlie Dovenbarger. He enjoyed flying with his son who is a pilot and later watching Mark fly model airplanes.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Sandra L. Sholtis Wheeler whom he married August 8, 1959 and who passed away July 31, 2010; brothers-in-law Harold Weston and Kenneth C. "Kenny" Saling and sister-in-law Althea Sholtis.

Those left to cherish his memory are, son Mark (Sherry) Wheeler of Caldwell; sister Sue Weston of Navarre, OH; sister-in-law Janet C. Saling of Caldwell and brother-in-law David Sholtis of Highland, IL. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and friends.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Barrys Ridge Cemetery, in Caldwell, with Pastor John Powell officiating. A military graveside service will follow conducted by the Noble County Veteran Service Organizations. Chandler Funeral Home, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724 has been entrusted to care for the family.
