Art Frank Scott

Art Frank Scott age 99, of Caldwell, OH, peacefully departed on Sunday, March 3, 2024, mirroring his tranquil life surrounded by nature near a stream at his residence. Born on January 31, 1925, in Kansas City, KS, he was the son of the late Robert and Josephine Fishnick Scott.

He was a well-known hunter and trapper and also enjoyed raising dogs. Art owned and operated the Scott Furr Company for many years. He earned the distinguished honor of being inducted into the National Trappers Association Trappers Hall of Fame. Art trapped in 17 states, Europe, and British Columbia. He was one of the founders of the Ohio State Trappers Association and the National Trappers Association. He assisted the government in trapping many times over the years. Art was a proud lifetime member of the National Rifle Association. He was also a collector of Indian Relics.

He served and protected his nation in the U.S. Army having fought in the 4th Wave at Omaha Beach on D-Day in WWII.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three siblings.

He is survived by two sons William Scott of Ashland, OH and Roger Scott of Panama City, FL; two grandchildren; three brothers and one sister; good friend Dean Bartlett of Lower Salem, OH. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and friends.
