Amos A. Day III, age 76, of Caldwell passed away Sunday evening, May 2nd, 2010 at the Cambridge Health and Rehabilitation Center in Cambridge, OH. He was born in Caldwell October 9th, 1933 a son of the late Amos A. and Laura Beatrice Robinson Day II. Amos was a member of the First Baptist Church in Caldwell, where he was very active serving as a Deacon and a Sunday School Teacher. He attended Caldwell Schools until the Eleventh Grade and then eventually graduated from the Mentor High School in Mentor, OH. He served and protected his nation in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War from 1951 to 1954 and eventually went on to sign up for the Merchant Marines. He attended Case Western Reserve and eventually went on to teach junior high in the Caldwell Schools. He was employed for many years at RCA and NCR where he worked in quality control and also worked at County Line Cheese in Byesville. He was the President and active in the Noble County Right To Life for many years. Amos loved to listen to music and was an avid reader with an exceptional knowledge of many different subjects. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a Sister-In-Law Donna Belle Day and her infant Daughter Angela; two Nieces Sandra McDonald and Peggy Ruppel. He will be missed by his family One Sister Janice (John) Watson of Mt. Ephraim; One Brother Neil (Vella) Day of Cambridge; Two Nephews Forrest (Megan) Day of Marysville, OH and their four children and David (Kathy) Watson of Mt. Ephraim and their two children; One Niece Devanie Lynn Day of Cambridge and her four children. He is also survived by several additional nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Thursday, May 6, 2010 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Chandler Funeral Home, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724. The Funeral Service will be held Friday at 1:00 PM in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Jacobs and Pastor Brian King Co-Officiating. Burial will follow in the Olive Cemetery in Caldwell, where the Noble County Veteran Service Organizations will conduct military graveside services. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be directed to the First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 272 Caldwell, OH 43724 or Hospice of Guernsey Inc., P.O.
