Alvin Vavrek

Alvin Frank Vavrek, age 76, of Caldwell, OH died Wednesday morning (Aug. 24, 2005) at Summit Acres Nursing Home in Caldwell. He was born Jan. 11, 1929 in Noble County a son of the late Joseph and Verona (Billie) Vavrek. He was a 1947 Graduate of Caldwell High School and also attended Ohio State University. Alvin served his country as a Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force. He enjoyed playing golf and chess in his free time. He worked for several years in Cleveland as well as for the parks service near Caldwell. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by one brother Joseph Vavrek and one sister Elizabeth Feick. He is survived by 4 nieces Betty Sandridge of Akron, OH, Patricia Feick and Nancy Feick both of Columbus, OH and Verona Route, 3 nephews James Feick of Akron, OH, Joseph Vavrek, and Gary Feick of Mart, Texas. Friends will be received Saturday (Aug. 27, 2005) from 12 noon until 2:00 pm service time at the Chandler Funeral Home, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724 where services will be held Saturday at 2:00pm with the Rev. Father Dale Tornes serving as Celebrant. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Caldwell where military graveside honors will be conducted by the Belle Valley American Legion Post #641 and Caldwell VFW Post #4721.
