Alan Jay Dillon MSGT age 60, of Coolville, OH passed away Sunday, August 14, 2022 at his home. He was born May 18, 1962 in Baltimore, MD a son of Alan Jerry and Irene Thomas Dillon of Caldwell.
He served and protected his Nation in the US Air Force for over 23 years prior to his retirement. Following his retirement, he taught AFJROTC at Parkersburg South High School for several years. Jay had many passions including fishing, hunting, 4-wheeling, and woodworking. He loved spending time with his grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his cousin Mike Hawkins.
In addition to his parents, those left to cherish his memory are his wife Heidi J. Dillon of Coolville, whom he married June 20, 2006; children Kerrie (Justin) Herman of Devils Lake, ND, Toni (Andrew) Dittus of Minot, ND, Heather Renee (Andrew) Richard of New Martinsville, OH, and Andrew (Hayley) Haynes of Little Hocking, OH; grandchildren Alexas, Scott, Christopher, Dillon, Lydia, Kylar, Emersyn, Damien, Brayden, Ben, Riley, Jaelyn, Cohen, and Hayes; brother Jeff (Lori) Dillon of Olmstead Falls, OH; sister-in-law Beth (Frank) Buxton of Ostrander, OH. He is also survived by many friends.
A private family graveside will be held with full military honors in the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, OH, with burial to follow. Chandler Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724 has been entrusted to care for the family.
