Biography

Adolphus E. "Buster" Nelson, age 82, of Sarahsville passed away Sunday Morning May 24th, 2009 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 6th, 1927 in Washington County, OH a son of the late Fred Nelson and Dessie Syx Clark. Buster Served and protected his Country in the United States Air Force stationed with a postwar occupation force in Germany from 1945 to 1948. He was employed as a semi driver for Commercial Motor Freight of Indiana for over 30 years and later was a custodian for the Caldwell United Methodist Church. He was a Member of the Caldwell VFW Post #4721 and could often be found doing volunteer work at Summit Acres Skilled Nursing & Rehab. In addition to his volunteer work, Buster enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Donella Rogers Nelson who passed away September 12th, 1991; Two Sisters Maude Caldwell and Eleanor Sheaks. Surviving are Two Daughters Kitty Jo (Rick) Zerger of Caldwell and Lisa (Jim) Pope of Columbus; Son Edward A. Nelson and Sheryl Eynon of New Concord; Seven Grandchildren Sherry Lynn Nelson, Sheila Jo (Rodney) Rucker, Shayne (Brian) McMillen, Chris E. (Angel) Ogle, Shannon C. Johnson and Toby Cain, Brooke N. Zerger and Travis Allen Pope; Nine Great Grandchildren Shelbi J. Johnson, Lakyn and Loryn Ogle, Collin, Cameryn and Ethan McMillan, Baylee, Megan and Ella Rucker; One Sister Mary Kendle of Marietta. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and friends. Friends will be received Wednesday, May 27, 2009 from 2:00 to 7:00 PM at the Chandler Funeral Home, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724. A Funeral Service will be held Thursday at 11:00 AM in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Floyd Costello Officiating. Burial will follow in Village View Cemetery in Sarahsville, where the Noble County Veteran Service Organizations will conduct Military Graveside Services.
