Wava M. Whetstone, age 87 of Caldwell, Ohio passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2019. She was born April 9, 1931 daughter of the late George Edward Harper and Lucetta Ruth Greathouse Harper. She was a graduate of Dexter City High School and retired from the Caldwell Exempted Village School System following 30 years of service.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband James A. Whetstone, whom she married September 27, 1949 and who died February 15, 2012; three sisters Wilma Swain, Winifred Brinkley, and Willa Glass; four brothers Woodrow, Wiley, Wayne and Willard Harper.
Surviving are two daughters, Victoria (Nick) Scaglione of Canton, Ohio and Valeria (Buck) Weaver of Caldwell, Ohio; four grandchildren Jennifer (Mike) Potter, Jason (Kelly) Scaglione, Danielle Weaver and Brittany (Alex) Ulrich; seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and her special four-legged friends Buddy, Scamp, and Winston.
There will be no visitation or services at this time, as Mrs. Whetstone has bequeathed her body to The Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine.
