Marion N. Garvin age 77, of Sharon, OH passed away Wednesday morning February 21, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born June 21, 1940 in Marietta, OH a son of the late Irvil F. and Edna Mae Woodford Garvin.
He was a member of the Sharon Presbyterian Church and trustee there for many years. He was a truck driver by trade and was a NASCAR fan. He had a passion for racing and drove dirt track race cars in the 60’s and 70’s. He liked hunting and fishing in his spare time. Most of all he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son Paul E. Garvin; 2 brothers George and Dale Garvin, and 2 sisters Ruth Hendershot and Gladys Windland.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Deanna Marquis Garvin, whom he married January 4, 1959; 2 sons H. Alan (Rowena) Garvin and Dale E. (Ann) Garvin all of Caldwell; 1 daughter Lynn E. (Mike Christman) Garvin of Blacklick, OH; 5 grandchildren Jason Garvin, Erika (Steven) Copley, Chase (Tina) Garvin, Whitney (Phillip Schoeppner) Garvin, and Shae (Patrick) Bouey; 6 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; 2 brothers Darwin Garvin and Ronnie (Sue Langley) Garvin all of Caldwell; 1 sister Doris (Roger) Wagner of Beverly, OH. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and friends.
The family will receive friends for visitation Saturday, February 24, 2018 from 12:00 to 2:00 PM at the Chandler Funeral Home, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724. A funeral service will conclude visitation on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 2:00 PM in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Jim Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in Sharon Cemetery.
