Marguerite Sarah Mullin Noll Yontz, 96, died in comfort and peace on November 19, 2015, of complications from stroke and cardiovascular disease.
She was born on December 18, 1918 in Newtown, Pennsylvania to the late William Michael Mullin (1886-1958) and Clara Agnes Carver Mullin (1889-1920). While still a toddler, she was adopted by Margaret Estadt Noll (1881-1943) and Benjamin Noll (1885-1952) and was raised by them in North Braddock, Pennsylvania and Olive, Ohio. She is a 1937 graduate of Caldwell High School in Ohio. In 1941 she married Harry Edward Yontz (1919-1988) and accompanied him to stations in Hattiesburg, Omaha, and Norfolk during his service in the US Army Quartermaster Corps during World War II.
During her professional life, Marguerite did insurance and hospital work at Farley-Yontz Insurance of Caldwell, Brower-Jackman-Falk Insurance of Ft. Myers, Florida and Lee Memorial Hospital of Ft. Myers. She practiced her Catholic faith at St. Joseph’s, Braddock, PA; St. Stephen’s, Caldwell; St. Francis Xavier, Ft. Myers; St. John the Evangelist, Valdosta, Georgia; St. Peter’s, Greenville; and Newman Catholic Student Center, Greenville.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Thomas Noll Yontz (1943-1962) and Phillip Noll Yontz (1943-1996); one daughter, Margaret Yontz (1947); two brothers, James Arthur Mullin (1918-1920) and William Francis Mullin (1914-1988); and two sisters, Mary Margaret Mullin Grega (1913-1990) and Clare Mullin Connelly (1916-2001).
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Mary Elaine Yontz and Jack Randall Fisher II of Greenville; daughter-in-law, Lillian Calero Yontz of Senecaville, OH; sister-in-law, Mary Jane Yontz-Anderson of Caldwell; granddaughter, Jennifer Yontz-Orlando and husband Marc Orlando of Ft. Myers; granddaughter, Mariclaire Yontz La Forte and husband John La Forte of Falls Church, Virginia and Great Falls, Montana; two great-grandchildren, Nicholas Graham Orlando and Christine Erin Orlando of Ft. Myers; several extended family members; and many, many admirers.
Inurnment will be held Monday July 2, 2018 at 4:00 PM at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Caldwell, OH, with Father Wayne Morris serving as celebrant.
