Jolen “Joe” Lee Conrad age 66, of Caldwell, OH passed away suddenly from a heart attack Wednesday, March 6, 2019 near Cadiz, OH. He was born December 19, 1952 in Barberton, OH a son of John and June Byrd Conrad. As a child Joe could be found exploring the woods, fishing, or trapping. For the last several years he has enjoyed camping and fishing in West Virginia along the Hughes River with family and friends.
After graduation, Joe was drafted into the U.S. Army. Joe worked for Grief Brothers and B & N Coal until retiring a couple years ago. He was an avid patriot and loved to talk (argue) politics “Make America Great Again”. On Sundays in the fall he could often be found with his sons watching his favorite football team the Cincinnati Bengals.
Joe will be missed by longtime friend and companion Phoebe Gerst of Caldwell; 3 sons Eric (Stephanie) Conrad of Dexter City, OH, Austin Conrad U.S. Army Specialist, and Jeremy Conrad U.S. Army Specialist; 1 grandson Dalton Conrad; his parents John and June Conrad of Bremen, OH; 1 sister Jackie (John) Montell of Somerset, OH; brothers Jon “Dave” (Michelle) Conrad of Dayton, OH and Jeff (Tami) Conrad of Millersport, OH; several aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, and cousins. Joe will also be missed by his many friends.
The family will receive friends for visitation Monday March 11, 2019 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the Chandler Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724. Visitation will conclude at 6:00 PM with military honors conducted by the Noble County Veteran Service Organizations. Cremation will follow the services and inurnment will be held at a later date.
