John “Nick” Schott age 82, of Dexter City, OH passed away Sunday, March 18, 2018 at the Marietta Memorial Hospital in Marietta, OH. He was born February 4, 1936 in Harrietsville, OH a son of the late Charles P. and Lenora Ullman Schott.
Nick was an avid hunter, farmer and outdoorsman. He retired from the Airolite Company in Marietta following 42 years of service.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by 1 son Nickie Schott; 4 brothers Joe, Charles, Jim, and Neil Schott; 3 sisters Esther Hesson, Hazel Barker, and Doris Toole; brother-in-law Eddie Brooker.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Wanda M. Poulton Schott, whom he married May 4, 1957; 2 sons Frank (Bonnie) Schott of Dexter City and Andy Schott of Dexter City; 1 daughter Peggy Johnson of Caldwell, OH; 6 grandchildren Jason (Jen) Johnson, Wesley (Tristin) Johnson, Cody (Nicole) Johnson, Jonathan (Nikki) Schott, Amanda (Allen) Rush, and Kacie Schott; 5 great-grandchildren Coen, Alden, Asher, Tinley, and Raelynn; brother Dean (Joanne) Schott of Beverly, OH; sister Anna Mae Brooker of Churchtown; classmate and good friend for many years Bill Walters of Florida. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 21, 2018 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Chandler Funeral Home, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724. A funeral service will conclude visitation Wednesday at 1:00 PM in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel, with Chris Wells officiating. Burial will follow in Williamson Stack Cemetery near Dungannon, OH.
