John Seward Lisak age 77 of Caldwell, OH passed away Sunday morning, February 10, 2019 at the Marietta Memorial Hospital in Marietta, OH. John was born August 31, 1941 in Meigs Township in Muskingum County, OH a son of the late John and Flora Mae Carpenter Lisak.
John was a 1959 Graduate of the Belle Valley High School. He went on to serve and protect his nation in the US Navy, proudly serving on the USS Kitty Hawk. He was a member of the Belle Valley American Legion Post # 641. He farmed for many years along with his father. He enjoyed hunting and traveling, especially to NASCAR Races. He could often be found tinkering or fixing just about anything. He will always be remembered as a man that never met a stranger, he always had a minute to talk to anyone. He was a wonderful grandfather and traveled to all the grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s events.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his mother-in-law Mary R. (Robert “Bob”) Crow.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Carol S. Morland Lisak, whom he married January 4, 1965; 3 children Deborah (Larry) McKee of Belle Valley, Tamara (Allen) Schockling of Fulda, and John Seward Lisak II of Hiramsburg; grandchildren Kayla Marie (Robert Lee) Miley, Tyler Schockling, Benjamin Schockling, and Noah Kristopher Lisak; great-grandchildren Raelynn Marie & Klayton Lee Miley; extended family the Hermenia Wukelich Family of Warren, OH; sisters-in-law Norma (Richard) Lovett and Alice Ball; brothers-in-law Bill (Vicky) Morland and Leonard Morland. He is also survived by several cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family will receive friends for visitation Thursday, February 14, 2019 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at the Chandler Funeral Home, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724. A funeral service will be held Friday, February 15, 2019 at 11:00 AM in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Rodney Reeves officiating. Burial will follow in Hoskinsville Cemetery near Belle Valley, with military graveside honors conducted by the Noble County Veteran Service Organizations.
