Gerald David Lowers Sr.

Gerald David Lowers Sr. age 75, of Caldwell, OH was received into his heavenly home on June 1, 2018 at the Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, OH, to be with his Savior whom he loved so much.

He was a devoted husband, dad, papaw, friend, and follower of Christ, “Jerry,” will be fondly remembered by all those who knew him. To know him was to love him. Jerry was born January 31, 1943 in Columbus, OH to the late Charles Lowers and Jeanette Edgar Doak.

He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Betty Knox Lowers, whom he married December 24, 1964. In addition to his wife, he leaves behind three children, Sherry (David) Williams of Caldwell, Andy (Wanda) Lowers of Dexter City, and Holly (Curtis) Bilyeu of Cambridge; and five grandchildren, Mikayla, Karah, Kellie, Anna, and Clay.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Lowers Day Sells, his brother Joseph Lowers, and a son, Gerald David Lowers, Jr.

Jerry served and protected his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War as a flight mechanic on the infamous T-33. He retired from the Mahle Engine Components in Caldwell after 32 years as a toolmaker. “Pup” enjoyed his time and buddies at the plant.

Friends and family will be received on Monday, June 4, 2018 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Chandler Funeral Home, 609 West Street, Caldwell, Ohio 43724. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at 11:00 AM in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim Cooper and Rev. Floyd Costello co-officiating. Burial will follow in Olive Cemetery in Caldwell, where the Noble County Veteran Service Organizations will conduct Military Graveside Services.
