Esther A. Hesson age 83, of Hiramsburg, OH passed away Monday, January 30, 2017 at her home. She was born June 4, 1933 in Harriettsville, OH a daughter of the late Charles P. and Lenora Ullman Schott.
She was a member of the Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Belle Valley, OH and the Dexter City American Legion Auxiliary Post #418. She was also a member of the Noble County Cruzers and truly loved older classic cars. For many years, she enjoyed crocheting and canning in her spare time.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by an infant daughter Vicky Ann; 2 sons James M. and Gary M. “Doc” Hesson; grandson Stephen Anthony Hesson; son-in-law Steve Woodhull; 4 brothers Charles, Neil, Joseph, and James Schott; 2 sisters Doris Toole and Hazel Barker.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Harry M. Hesson of the home, whom she married Nov. 29, 1952; 1 daughter Kathy J. Woodhull of Berlin Heights, OH; 3 sons Stephen M. Hesson of Harriettsville, Thomas D.(Debbie) Hesson of Caldwell, and Ronald G. “Hap” Hesson of Caldwell; 5 grandchildren Darla (Bid) Reyes, Donna Hesson, Paula Hesson, Megan Guth, and Jonathan “J.D.” Hesson; 6 great-grandchildren; siblings Nick (Wanda) Schott of Dexter City, Anna Mae Brooker of Churchtown, OH, and Dean (Joanne) Schott of Beverly. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, friends and her faithful companion, her dog Goldie.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 1, 2017 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at the Chandler Funeral Home, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, January 2, 2017 at the Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Belle Valley with Rev. Father Wayne Morris serving as Celebrant and Rev. William Pickenpaugh co-officiating. Burial will follow in the Halley’s Ridge Cemetery.
