Bernard "Tony" Lee Hannum Jr.

Bernard Lee “Tony” Hannum Jr. age 63, of Caldwell, OH passed away Thursday, March 9, 2017 at his home. He was born September 24, 1953 in Zanesville, Ohio a son of Dorothy Stokes Hannum of Caldwell and the late Bernard Lee Hannum Sr.

Tony served and protected his nation in the US Army in Panama during the Vietnam War and was a member of the Belle Valley American Legion Post #641. He had many hobbies including shooting guns, collecting coins, and riding his Harley Davidson Fat Boy. He worked for many years on oil rigs as a driller. This profession led him to appear on a television reality show called Blood and Oil.

In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his wife Janet Lynn Green Hannum, whom he married November 29, 1974 and who passed August 5, 2015, and his father-in-law Floyd P. Green.

Those left to cherish his memory, in addition to his mother are 3 daughters Melissa (Darren) DeLong of Caldwell, Tara Hannum of Painesville, OH, and Nicole Hannum of Caldwell; 2 grandchildren Drew and Paige DeLong; a brother Bill (Ruth) Hannum of Byesville; a sister Wilma (Gary) Edgar of Sarahsville, and mother-in-law Lourene June Rogers Green of Caldwell. He is also survived by brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and his beloved dog Bella.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 14, 2017 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Chandler Funeral Home, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724. A funeral service will follow visitation on Tuesday at 1:00 PM in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Jim Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in Halley’s Ridge Cemetery, with military graveside services conducted by the Noble County Veteran Service Organizations.

The family requests memorial contributions be directed to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
