May 28, 1948 - January 21, 2010

Kenneth C. “Kenny” Saling age 61 of Caldwell, OH passed away Thursday January 21st, 2010 surrounded by his loving family, following a lengthy battle with Multiple Sclerosis. He was born May 28th, 1948 in Noble County, Ohio a son of Margie Crum Saling of Caldwell and the late Bernard J. Saling.

Kenny served and protected our Nation in the U.S. Army. He was formerly employed as a Land Surveyor for the County and State of Ohio. He enjoyed wood carving in his spare time.

In addition to his Father he is preceded in death by two brothers William R. Saling and Denver A. “Butch” Saling.

Surviving are his wife Janet C. Sholtis Saling of the home, whom he married August 5th, 1967; Son Doug B. Saling of Caldwell; Mother Margie Crum Saling of Caldwell; Three Sisters Sheila (James) Serdy of Belle Valley, OH, Becky Saling and Christy (Rick) Postlethwait both of Caldwell; Sisters-In-Law Beth Saling and Sandra (Bill) Wheeler both of Caldwell; Brother-In-Law David (Althea) Sholtis of Highland, IL. He was also survived by several nieces, nephews and friends.

Friends will be received Sunday January 24th, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at the Chandler Funeral Home, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724. A Funeral Service will be held Monday at 1:00 PM in Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor John Powell Officiating. Burial will follow in Barrys Ridge Cemetery with Military Graveside Services conducted by the Noble County Veteran Service Organizations. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Hospice of Guernsey Inc., P.O. Box #1165, Cambridge, OH 43725.
