Walter R. Snyder Sr. age 77, of Lower Salem, formerly of Randolph, Oh passed away Tuesday February 25, 2014 at his residence. He was born June 9, 1936 in Kent, Oh a son of the late Jason Earl and Pauline Brannen Snyder.

Walter coached Little League for many years competing in many State Competitions. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, but most of all spending time with his family and friends. He retired from The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company after 35 years of service.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Walter R. Snyder Jr. and a brother Richard Snyder.

He was loved and will be missed by his family, wife Sandra C. Houck Snyder, whom he married

February 8, 1958; 2 sons James Snyder of Randolph and Timothy Snyder (Barbara) of Sebring, Oh; 1 daughter Beth Snyder of Randolph; 5 grandchildren Jonathan, Renee, Matthew, Andrew, and Joshua;

4 Great grandchildren Olivia, Jasmine, Aiden and Noah and 1 sister Ruth McKay of Kent.  He is also survived by nieces, nephews and friends.

Cremation will be observed at this time. A memorial service is being planned for a later date.
