Victor C. Bonar

Victor C. Bonar age 86, of Conesville, OH passed away Wednesday October 30, 2013 at the Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital in Zanesville, OH. He was born January 27, 1927 in Harrietsville, OH a son of the late Clarence and Mattie Bonar. 

Victor enjoyed hunting and in his early years, could often be found riding horses. He served and protected his country in the US Army during WWII. He was a member of the Aurelius Lodge #308 F & AM in Macksburg and the American Legion Post #750 in Lowell. 

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by 2 grandchildren Jason D. Bonar and Sherri Lea Archer. 

He is survived by his family, wife JoAnn Johnson Bonar of the home, whom he married October 16, 1948; daughter Brenda (Junior) Woodard of Pleasant City; 2 sons Rick Bonar of Cumberland and Randy (Trudye) Bonar of Roseville; 9 grandchildren Nancy Crum, Tanya Hitchens, David Bonar, Jeremy Bonar, Courtney Watson, Joey Bonar, Logan Bonar, Danny Bonar and Robbie Bonar; 18 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; 3 sisters Eleanor Pangle of Byesville, Lois Corbitt of Ravenna and Bertha King of Caldwell; 1 brother Carl Bonar of Marietta. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and friends. 

The family will receive friends Saturday November 2, 2013 from 11:00 AM until the service time at 1:00 PM at the Chandler Funeral Home, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. William Pickenpaugh officiating. A masonic service will begin the funeral service at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow in Olive Cemetery in Caldwell.
